How to summarize 2020? It was a year no one could have planned for.
But RE/MAX stepped up and hosted its events with the same energy and exuberance as ever before – with some of the brand’s biggest conferences going virtual. Amid the uncertainty, RE/MAX affiliates were still able to connect and collaborate with one another with the help of reimagined events in all-new digital environments.
Check out some of the best moments from these “gatherings” in 2020.

Rocking out with Journey at R4 2020
Last winter feels like forever ago, but back in February RE/MAX hosted its annual R4 convention in Las Vegas with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Journey performing an exclusive concert.
With hits like “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Anyway You Want It,” the band helped set the tone for tackling challenges and having a productive year ahead.

An entirely virtual Broker/Owner Conference, “BOC@Home”
RE/MAX hosted its first-ever all virtual Broker/Owner Conference (BOC) in August through a dynamic platform unlike any other video meeting before.
Complete with speakers like NFL legend Joe Theismann, unMarketing Co-Founder Scott Stratten and RE/MAX Co-Founder Dave Liniger, plus entertainment like a virtual happy hour hosted by DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss, this year’s BOC was anything but boring. Dubbed “BOC@Home,” the event provided the same amazing experience as years past but was safely held behind a digital screen. Biggest news of all: Because the BOC was accessible from all around the world, affiliates from 42 countries were able to attend and viewed sessions over 10,000 times.

The virtual sunshine at PBS & Catalyst
Although the top office leaders who earned invitations to the annual Premier Broker Summit (PBS) and Catalyst meeting missed out on a 5-star trip to Marco Island, Florida, they displayed their normal level of enthusiasm and energy just the same.
The virtual version was a smash success, and a social media video contest enabled everyone to share some laughs and creativity. The event was another clear sign that nothing can dampen the passion of RE/MAX brokers.
Baratunde Thurston inspiring progressive conversation during the BOC
Writer and former White House advisor Baratunde Thurston was the keynote speaker at the virtual BOC and unpacked the topic of racial inequality.
During his insightful address, Thurston sparked difficult conversations and challenged RE/MAX affiliates to reconsider how they conceptualize race and inequality.

Apolo Ohno and Miss Val speaking at Luxury Forum
Apolo Ohno, the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian of all time, and UCLA gymnastics coach Valerie Kondos Field, better known as Miss Val, were guest speakers at this year’s virtual The RE/MAX Collection Luxury Forum.
Both renowned personalities shared unique perspectives on determination, perseverance and leadership. Ohno emphasized the importance of creating “micro-wins” each day to constantly progress toward a greater goal, as he has done throughout his impressive speed skating career.
Countless Zoom trainings and webinars from RE/MAX University
When they couldn’t gather in person, RE/MAX University (RU) took to the screen to ensure the RE/MAX network could still receive world-class business training online. From the Technology Webinar Series to COVID-19 resources to Brian Buffini’s Pathway to Mastery training series and many more, RU helped thousands of affiliates expand their knowledge through courses, certifications and learning tracks.
