Are you trying to optimize Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to leverage your business? Katie Lance can help.
As the Founder and CEO of Katie Lance Consulting, a company specializing in social media strategy, and author of #GetSocialSmart, Lance knows the ins and outs of digital communication. She’s also the founder of the Social Smart Academy and the creator of custom social media training for RE/MAX affiliates.
On this week’s episode of the Start With a Win podcast, Lance joins RE/MAX CEO Adam Contos to discuss social media best practices and strategy for real estate agents and brokers in 2021.
“2020 obviously was not the year any of us expected or planned,” Lance reflects.
After the COVID-19 pandemic hit last spring, she noticed how some real estate professionals maintained their online presence while others halted posting altogether. Lance describes the phenomenon by saying that for some, the lights were on but no one was home.
The professionals who continued engaging on their channels, however, were positioned as trustworthy leaders in their communities.
Lance’s best advice is simple: “Just [take] a few minutes to be intentional.”
She suggests connecting with followers and taking the time to truly engage in conversation. A starting goal would be to connect with at least five people each day across social channels.
“Relationships are built with small, tiny interactions over the course of time. Every like, every comment, every share – it adds up,” she says.
Tune in to this week’s episode of Start With a Win to hear more advice from Lance and learn the importance of crafting a social media plan.
