From curating Instagram posts to sharing updates on Facebook to creating video content for TikTok, real estate agents are busy harnessing the power of social media to build business. Now, there’s a new app to navigate. But don’t worry, it’s a familiar scene.
On July 5, Meta – the parent company of Facebook and Instagram – debuted the Threads app, a short-form conversation platform. Since its recent launch day, the spry new app has garnered over 100 million users. With Threads, users can post messages up to 500 words long, include photos, and share videos up to five minutes in length.
Accessing Threads is simple. Users can open a new account or log in with their Instagram credentials. Once on board, they just start or join a conversation.
What makes Threads an intriguing digital space?
Since launch day, new Thread users have been creating and posting interesting content. At first glance, the app appears to be a good place for creative self-expression and open dialogues.

Social media in general presents opportunity for individuals and businesses to share their voice, which is especially valuable in real estate, a profession rooted in forming meaningful connections with others.
Why should real estate professionals consider using Threads?
For many agents, using Threads can be a simple way to continue their social media outreach in pursuit of connecting with prospective clients. The bigger one’s online presence is, the more likely people are going to associate them with being the go-to source on all-things real estate.
A text-centric platform, Threads may also be another good option for those who prefer written messages to the videos posted on TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube. Threads can also double as content for other platforms. For example, a thread can be shared to one’s Instagram story, driving engagement between both connected platforms.
As Threads could become a mainstay in the social media realm, stay tuned for news of the app’s evolution and more ways to stand out among the growing digital community and build business. Plus, check out what RE/MAX is up to on Threads.
