Providing Homeownership Resources to Veterans with VAREP

After being discharged from the U.S. Navy, Son Nguyen partnered with real estate agent Dustin Luce to create the Veteran’s Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP), a HUD-approved nonprofit housing counseling organization.

The pair joined RE/MAX CEO Adam Contos on this week’s episode of the Start With a Win podcast to discuss how VAREP creates homeownership opportunities across the U.S.

Since its founding in 2011, VAREP has become a community of real estate agents, 70% of which are veterans themselves. The association has helped families find financial assistance, provided housing grants to veterans, hosted industry events and hosted certification courses.

“I can’t emphasize [enough] the impact that [members] will make not just within their own lives – being able to take their passion to serve the local military and veteran communities in many different ways – but also in the lives that they serve,” Nguyen says.
