RE/MAX CEO Adam Contos doesn’t just start each day with a win – he ends with one, too.
On this week’s episode of the Start With a Win podcast, Adam and Producer Mark have a candid conversation about the value of ending each day, task or project on a high note … you know, with a win.
“Did you get it done?” Adam asks listeners.
It generally doesn’t happen by accident – there’s a process involved. To end a day with a win, you must assess the goals you had for that day and evaluate your progress toward them. This requires self-reflection, which is possible only by developing what Adam believes is one of the most important qualities of successful leaders: emotional maturity.
In essence, Adam explains that the best way to ensure each day ends with a win is to quit procrastinating. He believes that setting a deadline for yourself, far in advance to the endeavor’s real deadline, provides time to fine-tune details, adjust course and stay calm along the way.
He also views losses as lessons, noting that taking time to reflect and grow from your mistakes is a key to better performance.
Tune into this week’s episode of Start With a Win to hear more from Adam about emotional intelligence, procrastination and the concept of time. You’ll also have the chance to hear voicemails from actual Start With a Win listeners.
