The RE/MAX brand stands behind the belief that wellness must be prioritized for everyone – especially members of the network. That’s why the brand is debuting a new health insurance solution, launching the Health Benefits Provided by ABO program, to help affiliates keep themselves – and their families – healthy and safe.
Starting April 1, 2021, RE/MAX agents, brokers and managers across 49 U.S. states can enroll in coverage from a national Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) network.
According to the National Association of REALTORS’ 2020 Health Insurance Survey, only 2% of real estate agent members obtained their health insurance coverage through a real estate firm. RE/MAX is helping to fill that industry-wide gap in healthcare.
“This program really changes the landscape of insurance offerings for RE/MAX agents,” says Nick Bailey, RE/MAX Chief Customer Officer. “It provides access to high-quality, discounted coverage for RE/MAX affiliates and their families, delivering a level of security they may not have right now.”
Who is eligible for this program?
RE/MAX affiliates in 49 states – and in all RE/MAX regions of the U.S. – are eligible for coverage through the Health Benefits Provided by ABO program (coverage in the state of Hawaii is forthcoming).
The program offers a variety of set rates across the nation. This means that factors like age and existing health conditions will not be taken into account when receiving a quote on a chosen plan. While prices are pre-determined, the Health Benefits Provided by ABO offers a variety of plans to meet the needs of everyone, including add-ons for dental and vision.
Only current RE/MAX affiliates and their families or dependents are eligible to receive this new option for health insurance.
Coverage is not dependent on others. Any agent in a qualifying state has access to enrollment, regardless of whether other members of their brokerage enroll.
How does one enroll for coverage?
Starting at 8 a.m. PT on April 1, RE/MAX affiliates can visit the new Health Benefits website to compare policies and enroll in coverage. This isn’t a one-time event; members of the RE/MAX network have access to open enrollment from the 1st to the 10th of each month following April 2021.
Will previous Approved Supplier insurance options remain available to RE/MAX affiliates?
Existing coverage options through RE/MAX Approved Suppliers will remain available to the network.
Affiliates interested in the new Health Benefits Provided by ABO program can find out more details or enroll by logging into MAX/Center and looking in the RE/MAX Marketplace.
