“If the body and mind are not in tune, [it’s] really tough to see results,” Eric Papp says.

As the founder of intellectual capital firm Agape Leadership, LLC and a mentor for business leaders seeking to improve their performance, Papp applies this ideology to his everyday life – and it’s his foundational piece of advice for the thousands of entrepreneurs he’s worked with.

On this week’s episode of the Start With a Win podcast, Papp joins RE/MAX Holdings CEO Adam Contos to share how listeners can manage their mindset and better prioritize.

Above all other factors, Papp believes that mindset is the single most essential component to bettering oneself and, ultimately, their business.

He shares his concept of “micro to momentum,” encouraging others to tackle big goals and dreams with small steps in order to trick the mind into thinking the task is easy. In reality, these small accomplishments are working toward a difficult – but rewarding – feat.

“You’ve got to really generate [momentum]. And then over the course of 65-70 days, it becomes that unconscious thought, that habit, where the effort itself doesn’t seem so paralyzing,” he says.

One of the largest problems people face along the road to success, Papp says, is getting in their own way. At times, people can be their own worst enemies. Small steps that create momentum, however, are essential to break out of a mental lag.

Papp advises to stick with personal development, no matter how hard it may be, and never take it for granted.

“[Personal development] is a continual process because if not, the weeds and worry of the world start to weigh in on us,” he says.

Tune in to this week’s podcast episode to hear more advice from the renowned mindset coach on overcoming personal challenges to find success in all aspects of life, including business growth.
