Success can create its own challenges.
For Ashley Quaife, one of Florida’s top-performing real estate professionals, the issue wasn’t finding clients or closing transactions. It was figuring out what came next.
After building a thriving business and earning recognition as the No. 1 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices agent in Florida and No. 11 nationally, Quaife had reached a point many high-achieving agents eventually face: capacity. There were only so many hours in the day and continuing to grow would require more than simply working harder.
“I had reached the limit of what I could effectively accomplish alone,” Quaife says. “I had a vision of growth but was clueless about where to begin and how to scale.”
As she began exploring her options, Quaife wasn’t searching for a brokerage based solely on production statistics, technology or flashy recruiting presentations. Instead, she was looking for something more personal: a leadership team that shared her values and could help support the next phase of her business.
She found that at REMAX Champions in Trinity, Florida.

Finding the Right Fit
Long before joining the brokerage, Quaife had observed REMAX Champions Broker/Owners Sallie Swinford and Christian Bennett’s involvement in the community. Their commitment to local organizations and relationships resonated with her own approach to business.
“We’re really ingrained in the city, and that’s what builds our business,” Quaife says. “We want to give back to the people who make us successful.”
Before making her decision, she talked with agents throughout the office and consistently heard the same message. Everyone, it seemed, agreed that Swinford and Bennett offered strong leadership, accessibility and support.
“I interviewed at different brokerages,” she says. “No one compared to the relationship.”
Building A Future
That focus on relationships became especially important once she joined REMAX Champions and began building a team, a goal she had long envisioned.
Rather than trying to grow alone, Quaife says she worked closely with Swinford and Bennett to create a blueprint for a sustainable business structure.
“The most important thing for me coming over was that I needed help structuring a team – a strong team,” she says. “I don’t want high turnover. I want a small but mighty team.”
Together, they developed a plan that eventually led to the launch of her team, which now includes buyer agents and operational support staff. According to Quaife, the impact has extended far beyond business metrics.
“When I built the team, I had a renewed spirit,” she says. “Being able to spend more time with my family and knowing I have people I trust around me has been a game changer.”
Embracing the Network
Quaife also points to the broader REMAX network as an advantage, particularly in her relocation-focused business. With many of her clients moving from out of state, the brand’s global footprint and referral connections have helped her expand her reach while continuing to serve clients at a high level.
The culture within the office also exceeded her expectations.
“What surprised me was how much it feels like a family,” she says. “We lean on each other, collaborate and share ideas. In a competitive industry, that’s incredible.”
For agents considering a brokerage change of their own, Quaife believes the decision should go beyond tools and technology. For her, it was about finding the right people, support system and environment to help build something lasting.
“The relationship you build, the support you have and the resources available are key,” she says. “If something can take your business to the next level, why would you pass on that? But you have to make sure the relationship is right for you.”
