REMAX CEO Erik Carlson has again been named one of the most influential leaders in the real estate industry.
This marks the third straight year that Carlson, who joined the Company as CEO in late 2023, has been recognized as an Inman Power Player. The list spotlights the most powerful, innovative and visionary executives in real estate today.
Carlson oversees REMAX, which has more than 145,000 agents and a presence in over 120 countries and territories, as well as Motto Mortgage and wemlo. For him, the goal is simple: Help agents win more listings, do it in less time and build profitable businesses. In 2025, this included ushering in a new era of REMAX with refreshed branding, strengthened leadership, and the introduction of Marketing as a Service, MAXRefer, MAXEngage and many other tools, services and products.

In part, it’s this culture of high energy, innovation and vision – as well as global reach, brand awareness and reputation – that attracted Vivian Risi, Michelle Risi and Justin Risi to recently convert their 17-office operation to the REMAX brand. Announced in early 2026, the Ontario conversion of REMAX Your Community Realty and REMAX Connect Realty was the largest in REMAX history and in the Canadian real estate industry.
In addition to being named a 2026 Inman Power Player, Carlson was also recently recognized on the 2026 Swanepoel Power 200 ranking of influential industry professionals. Under his leadership, the REMAX brand was also named a top franchisor by Entrepreneur for the 42nd straight year.
