Q: How did you get into real estate?
A: I’m a Utah native but have lived all over the U.S. with my husband for his job. Each time we moved, I handled the relocation matters, including finding housing. Through all of our moves and personal experiences, and since I have a naturally entrepreneurial spirit, I started to study real estate and get to know the industry better. It lit a fire inside of me! I realized that not only could I help others buy their home, but I could help them build wealth. And now as a broker, I’m excited to be able to help agents build their careers.
Q: What originally attracted you to the RE/MAX® brand?
A: The support built up around the franchisees and the technology. I was invited to attend the RE/MAX Broker/Owner Conference (BOC) last year. I met so many people who gave me the encouragement and support that I needed to take the leap and follow my dream of opening a brokerage.
Q: What were some of the feelings you had around your move to RE/MAX?
A: I was very nervous, but excited at the same time. I worried about what others would think of me jumping into something so huge, so quickly. However, I knew that this was my path and it was time for me to do something bigger. I’ve had a lifetime of learning and experience that goes far beyond selling houses, and that experience is what drives me forward. Once I made the leap, I felt invigorated and liberated knowing that I was following the path I was meant to be on. I am excited to make a difference for real estate agents who might feel like I did and provide them a path to something greater than they currently realize.
Q: How would you describe the support you experienced when opening your RE/MAX office?
A: My RE/MAX Franchise Development Consultant (FDC) has been invaluable to me. When I first met her, I felt an immediate camaraderie. She has shown me so much encouragement and support through everything that I never feel alone. I also feel supported from other franchise owners who have cheered me on and provided sound advice. RE/MAX is one big network helping lift you up when you need it.
Q: How has the market responded to your move to RE/MAX?
A: I just opened the doors, so time will tell on this, but I am excited to show our market they have a new, professional option for their real estate needs – backed, of course, by a history of success and dedication that only the RE/MAX brand can offer. With the changing market, we will provide a trusted place for people to fill all their real estate needs.
Q: How do you think RE/MAX will contribute to your growth goals?
A: I believe with the rebalancing market, many unaffiliated agents who have been finding easy success will no longer have the tools, resources, and understanding to make it in the new reality. RE/MAX LIGHTHOUSE will have the answers they need through systems, technology, and broker support, helping them weather the storm and lighting the way for them to become successful in their business and their future.
Q: What tools and resources provided by RE/MAX do you and your agents find to be the most valuable?
A: All of them! A well-known global brand, an international network of agents to utilize on a referral platform, technology that keeps us ahead of the game; an education platform and conferences that enable us to continuously improve our knowledge and provide better service to clients, and being service-oriented. It’s also great being able to benefit the lives of children through the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals program that allows us to give back to our community and make a bigger impact.
Q: What do you think today’s agent finds the most valuable when considering which brokerage to join and how will you ensure your office offers that value?
A: I believe culture is going to be a number one priority for agents looking for a new brokerage. So much of that has been lost in our digital world and agents need a place they feel they belong, are valued, and can thrive. At RE/MAX LIGHTHOUSE, our mission, vision and values play a key role in who we are and how we help.
