Jeremy Ryan Slate’s mission in life – and business – is to inspire others. And he’s doing just that with his Create Your Own Life podcast.

He operates under the philosophy that life is not what happens to you, but it’s what you do, what you create, and who mentors you along the way. And in his own career journey, Slate studies and works with top performers, from Super Bowl champions to a former CIA director, to understand what drives them along their career journeys.

On this week’s episode of the Start With a Win podcast, Slate joins RE/MAX CEO Adam Contos to guide others in finding their own success, especially those working in a digital space like social media or podcasting.

The Oxford scholar and former champion power lifter is best known for being a new media entrepreneur, having successfully gained opinion leader status and an online following. He helps other people find their niche when creating a brand for themselves in the digital world.

“How are you different from people that are out there? There are so many people just doing what other people do,” he says. “Unless you’re going to differentiate or give people a reason to be interested in you, you’re not going to be able to [stand out].”

Building a network, Slate says, is a critical part of learning your industry and understanding what consumers expect from an online presence. He also addresses how to scale social impact for optimal business growth and believes content is the driving force of all forms of engagement.

“Create a content production engine behind everything you’re doing,” Slate explains. “You want to really figure out how you’re going to repurpose content and use it in your marketing.”

He says that continuing to produce engaging and useful content is the best way to gain trust from consumers.

“If you’re going to scale [your business], you have to figure out how you’re going to use all of the [materials] you’ve created [for] your own marketing and in your own branding,” he says.

Tune in to this week’s podcast episode to hear Slate’s tips and tricks for continuing to produce fresh new content long after entering your respective industry online.
