E: kmccloy@remax.com DENVER – In honor of their longtime support of the Paralympic Movement in the United States, RE/MAX Co-Founders Dave and Gail Liniger have been awarded the 2013 Amazing Investor Award by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).As Charlie Huebner, Chief of Paralympics, USOC, introduced the award winners, he noted the Linigers' unparalleled impact on charitable organizations. "Both Dave and Gail have transformed philanthropy, as we know it today, helping numerous organizations raise millions of dollars since 1997."The Linigers proudly accepted their award at the USOC Paralympic Leadership Conference in Colorado Springs, Colo. The three-day symposium, held April 26-28, featured keynote speakers, which included Dave Liniger, as well as three U.S. hopefuls for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. In his presentation, Liniger shared with the audience motivations that helped him through recent physical challenges. "I've dealt with similar challenges, and there are times when reason tempts you to throw in the towel, but something inside refuses to give up. The Paralympic Movement gives hope, inspiration, joy and accomplishment to hundreds of thousands of people. It opens the world to show people that what you can do is still incredible."Dave and Gail have both dealt with serious physical challenges. Dave's just- released book, "My Next Step: An Extraordinary Journey of Healing and Hope" tells the emotional story of his recovery from a paralyzing staph infection. All sales proceeds will be donated to three non-profit organizations, including the U.S. Paralympics."We've always felt that perseverance and determination helped us through the difficult times in our lives," said Gail, who sustained permanent injuries following a plane crash in 1983. "But these world-class athletes show courage that's truly inspirational. We're thrilled to be a part of such an amazing organization and respect all the hard work of those who've made the U.S. Paralympics a success."The Amazing Investor Award is one of seven Paralympic Amazing Awards, which annually recognize those who have made an inspiring impact on the organization. Recipients of this particular award are those who have played a critical role in establishing resources for the Paralympic Movement. As dedicated philanthropists, the Linigers are well-known for their community involvement and commitment to many organizations, specifically the Paralympics Military and Veteran Program. For more information on the U.S. Paralympics, please visit www.teamusa.org.Nobody in the world sells more real estate than RE/MAX.
