A true entrepreneur, Len T. Wong has been in the real estate business for more than 35 years. He grew up in the industry, having watched his father own and grow a real estate brokerage – initially in Calgary before expanding into Edmonton. Early on, Wong knew the important role marketing plays in the business. He also understood the need to create unique selling propositions for both buyers and sellers in order to showcase what was in it for them.
So when it was time for Wong to make a change in his real estate business in the summer of 2025, the top-producing team leader sought out REMAX – and specifically REMAX Complete Realty in Calgary, Alberta, where he and his seven-member team now hang their licenses.
“We looked at all the opportunities out there, like eXp and real, but we wanted an opportunity that added value to what we already did,” Wong says. “That’s why we decided to return to REMAX.”
The team leader of Len T. Wong and Associates says he was drawn to the modernization of the REMAX brand as well as the support from leaders, including REMAX Canada President Don Kottick.
“I had been watching REMAX and its evolution,” Wong says. “I see how the new corporate leadership team is dedicated to building on the already-strong foundation. They want to make the brand even better.”

‘We’re excited to be back’
For more than 25 years, REMAX was home for Wong. During his initial tenure, he was honored as a Luminary of Distinction, was a member of the Circle of Legends, had earned entry into the Hall of Fame and was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement award.
“Awards are nice,” he says, “but at the end of the day, when you do the business and you build your brand, you really don’t worry about those things.”
Given market shifts and other economic factors in late 2018, Wong and his team decided to explore other opportunities with a boutique brokerage. But after seven years with the unaffiliated firm, Wong and his two managing partners – Steve Kabachia and Candice Ly-Walker – were looking for something more, something that supported what they’d built and would help them take it even further. They were ready to tap back into the power of a global brand and a community of more than 145,000 agents. They didn’t, however, want to lose the boutique brokerage feel.
“Being a native Calgarian, it was important to me to maintain the brand our team had already established while also leaning into our future values,” Wong says. “I’m here to build a business. We made this move to maintain the ‘boutique brokerage.’”
‘Adding a brand name like REMAX helps’
Due to his branding, advertising and exposure, Wong believes that if someone in Calgary were asked to name the area’s top five real estate agents, his name would come up more than 80% of the time. As a result, his team closes more than 220 transaction sides a year, with an average price point of $700,000, he says.
“Anytime you can add a brand name like REMAX, it helps,” Wong says. “We’ve had a very positive reaction to our announcement.”
Citing new REMAX technology that has rolled out – which includes MAXTech powered by BoldTrail, MAXRefer, MAXEngage, Lead Concierge and more – as well as future products that will come down the road, Wong stresses the importance of innovation on his decision to realign with the REMAX brand.
Another big draw? The annual REMAX R4 convention, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, which attracts REMAX affiliates from around the globe.
“I went to 25 R4 conventions in a row,” Wong says. “It was about building relationships with agents outside of Canada, and I think it helped me become a Top 10 agent in Canada – competing against agents in Toronto and Vancouver.”
‘I love how proactive my Broker/Owner is’
Wong, who was heavily recruited by many brokerages, says his decision ultimately came down to brokerage support and reputation. In that regard, REMAX Complete Realty Broker/Owners Darryl and Sharon Terrio blew him away.
“The REMAX brand helped – no question,” Wong says of his decision. “But I think what I loved most was how proactive my Broker/Owner Darryl is. He and Sharon have grown the brokerage to more than 120 agents, which I think is a testament to them and what they’ve done.
“I sit on the real estate board here in Calgary, and when his name would come up, he was always highly regarded.”
That combination of professionalism, proactive support and innovation, Wong says, is invaluable to him and his team.
“We’re excited to be back with REMAX, especially with everything the brand has done since we left,” says Wong, adding that he has friends at all levels of the organization. “So much is going on right now, and it’s important to know what’s available to us.
“And even more important to lean into it.”
