In 2021, when longtime real estate agent Chiquita Pittman learned her brokerage was converting to a different brand – eXp – she hoped the change wouldn’t impact how she operates business. However, just one year later, she realized how big a role a brand plays in the success of a real estate professional.

Pittman knew she had to make her way back to a RE/MAX brokerage.

With 20 years of industry experience, Pittman runs a productive, booming business. She needed an office that would reflect her approach – and she found one at RE/MAX First Realty in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The brokerage is a close-knit group of motivated professionals focused on helping as many buyers and sellers as possible.

“So many top-producing agents go [to RE/MAX First Realty] because everyone is working together, sharing, getting inspired and being motivated. That’s the type of environment I want to be immersed in – and it’s definitely the type of network I want to be a part of,” Pittman shares.

Pittman says several factors helped her choose where to realign her business.

RE/MAX offers accessibility to local support, resources

For Pittman, being able to easily consult her Broker/Owners to ask questions or seek advice is a major advantage.

“At a RE/MAX brokerage, you can pick up the phone and actually speak to your brokers or even talk to someone at headquarters,” she says, noting that her Broker/Owners understand the nuances of her local market. “If you need help with something, there’s always somebody available.”

The RE/MAX Platinum Club member also appreciates having convenient access to tools such as branded marketing materials, technology offerings and the RE/MAX University education platform.

“I’m constantly learning and I’m always invested in myself,” Pittman says. “RE/MAX agents tend to be the best because we have all the tools and education we need. With RE/MAX, there are so many different ways you can grow your business.”

The RE/MAX network is relationship-focused

An integral member of her local community, Pittman builds genuine relationships to create repeat and lifelong customers.

“We’re more than just real estate agents – we help people build wealth. When you do that, you’re forever connected to the people you sell houses to,” she says.

Pittman also develops and maintains strong relationships with local industry professionals for referrals and real-estate-adjacent services. Being part of the RE/MAX network keeps her connected with fellow top-performing agents. They share ideas, learn from one another and refer business.

“I’ve built a really good referral network in the North Brunswick and South Brunswick areas and Somerset County, where I do most of my business,” Pittman shares. “I have a lot of great, successful relationships with other RE/MAX agents who have experience and skills.”

“Experience – and the right skillset – is so important in this type of shifting housing market.”

RE/MAX has global brand recognition

“The bottom line is that I built the foundation of my business and my personal brand with RE/MAX,” Pittman explains. “Because RE/MAX has a great brand.”

Past and new customers choose to work with Pittman in part for her top-notch real estate services and vast knowledge on the area. Global brand recognition adds to her visibility.

One of Pittman’s real estate specialties is helping first-time homebuyers who have never worked with a real estate professional before. She sees this cohort of buyers gravitating toward a brand they know and trust.

“I love to help buyers purchase their very first home. I’ve been hosting webinars on this subject for the state of New Jersey and the Puerto Rican Action Board for seven years. I cover the whole process of being a first-time homebuyer in any given market,” she says.

Now back with a RE/MAX brokerage, Pittman continues to support her community by sharing her expert wisdom with buyers and sellers to help them achieve their real estate goals. Best of all, she feels connected with a greater network of experienced agents making a difference in the real estate industry – and in the lives of others.

“When you’re with RE/MAX, you feel part of their dream, and you feel like you’re really working towards something together,” Pittman says. “We’re all in this together.”
