Fifty years into the real estate business, how does RE/MAX remain an industry leader? Nick Bailey has the answers.
Bailey, RE/MAX President and CEO, joined “Floor Talk” live from the New York Stock Exchange to share insight into the steady RE/MAX foundation – and assess the role of agents in the current market conditions, too.
Watch the news segment below:
“It’s absolutely incredible that we are here in 2023 celebrating 50 years since the inception of the RE/MAX brand,” Bailey said, pointing to the fact that RE/MAX has since grown to over 140,000 agents in over 9,000 offices and a presence in more than 110 countries and territories.
“RE/MAX Co-Founders Dave and Gail Liniger knew that real estate could be done in a better fashion. It truly added a level of professionalism, combined with the economics of the maximum commission concept, and they revolutionized the business,” he continued. “But the key and success of our growth is really about finding like-minded entrepreneurs that have that same drive to expand their business. And we believe over the next 50 years, that growth will continue.”
Bailey commented on the value a trusted real estate professional brings to a transaction – a quality often found among RE/MAX agents. For years, shoppers have voted RE/MAX as the brand with the #1 Most Trusted Real Estate Agents in the USA* and Canada**.
“I absolutely love the fact that RE/MAX agents were voted the most trusted because it really comes back to the consumer. Why does a buyer or seller or potential buyer or seller choose a real estate professional? It’s based on trust,” he explained.” [Buying or selling a home] is one of the largest financial transactions that the average consumer will experience in their lifetime, and so you need that trust throughout the process.”
Trust isn’t the only quality consumers look for in the real estate professional they choose to work with. They also tend to seek out an agent with a great reputation, extensive market knowledge, and the support of technology for services like marketing. All of this helps ensure a standard of expertise – which agents work hard to uphold.
“Most importantly, agents are really attracted to the RE/MAX brand because it stands for a level of professionalism,” Bailey confirms.
