1. RE/MAX Portugal is the largest global RE/MAX region
The RE/MAX brand has a massive presence throughout Portugal, a country of over 10 million people. More than 9,000 RE/MAX professionals and 3,000 agents in training work from nearly 400 RE/MAX offices – covering all of the nation’s major metro areas as well as many rural communities.
While already being the RE/MAX brand’s largest global region (outside the U.S. and Canada), RE/MAX Portugal continues to grow and expand. It is constantly adding agents, opening new offices, enhancing the careers of local real estate professionals, and changing the lives of consumers.

2. Renowned leadership paves way for the region’s success
In 2000, Manuel Alvarez and Beatriz Rubio opened RE/MAX Portugal, bringing a brand with an international presence to their adopted home country. Within two years of opening, RE/MAX Portugal had become the country’s largest real estate network. The quick expansion was a product of Alvarez and Rubio’s determination to establish a business designed for growth – and built to last.
Alvarez and Rubio are originally from Spain, but have called Portugal home for more than three decades – and their local and national influence doesn’t go unnoticed. Over the years, Alvarez has earned many impressive titles, including Businessman of the Year by the Portuguese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Rubio has, too, having earned the No 1. spot in Portugal’s Best Team Leaders Awards.

The dynamic leadership duo maintains a productive, professional culture rooted in positivity. Already in 2024, RE/MAX Portugal has been named a winner of the Happy Awards by Consumer Choice, a renowned award organization that determines how happy employees are at given companies.
3. RE/MAX Portugal is an award-winning region
RE/MAX Portugal was named “Global Region of the Year” eight times by RE/MAX, LLC, a recognition that honors the growth and impact of the brand’s worldwide regions.
RE/MAX Portugal also recently earned the prestigious title of “Region of the Decade” by RE/MAX Europe, the region’s master franchisor that owns RE/MAX regions spanning more than 40 countries. The award is based on factors like innovation, customer service, strong leadership, and more.

4. The region’s 2024 marketing campaign is captivating consumers – and connecting with heart
RE/MAX Portugal is aware of the important role their network of professionals plays in changing people’s lives through real estate – so the region wanted that sentiment to be showcase in their 2024 advertising efforts.
With the tagline “Cada Vez Mais Amor, Cada Vez Mais RE/MAX” – which translates to “More and More Love, More and More RE/MAX” – they are on a mission to display the compassion that real estate agents bring to each transaction, with their clients’ happiness the utmost motivator.

“Our goal is to emphasize how RE/MAX Portugal’s affiliates put love into every transaction, into nurturing every relationship, and in finding homes for a families,” Rubio shares. “From relationships between RE/MAX Portugal and its affiliates, to the bonds members of our network form with their clients, this campaign highlights an ongoing commitment to putting love into everything we do.”
5. The region’s “Leaders’ Meeting” helps entrepreneurs take business to the next level
One of RE/MAX Portugal’s most prominent events is its Leaders’ Meeting, a gathering focused on preparing Broker/Owners to tackle current economic, market, and industry conditions.
“At the 2024 Leaders’ Meeting, we discussed new strategies for the year ahead and the future of real estate. We also focused on new and inspiring ways to drive growth and innovation throughout 2024,” Rubio says. “It was an incredibly enriching event that featured the voices of our network, coming together to help each other grow. The region also hosts an annual RE/MAX Portugal Convention, which attracts thousands of attendees. During the three-day event, affiliates network, listen to speakers, and building lasting friendships with one another.
