The inaugural Motto MILE (Mortgage Innovation and Loan Excellence) Summit welcomed more than 55 owners, managers and loan originators to Las Vegas last week. Held concurrent to the 45th anniversary R4 convention, MILE featured two days of celebrations, education and big company announcements.

Festivities kicked off with a cocktail reception for franchise owners on Tuesday night, followed by a day of free continuing education for loan originators on Wednesday. The education, provided by The Knowledge Coop, covered all aspects of mortgage regulations and best practices, including compliance, information security, privacy laws and more.

On Thursday, attendees gathered to share ideas with one another and listen to company leaders. Ward Morrison, President of Motto Franchising, provided an update on the state of the network. He also unveiled the Motto Mortgage cause: Mission Against Hunger. The newly created philanthropic program provides an opportunity for offices to help create healthier communities by collecting nonperishable food items.

Other notable announcements included the launch of a marketing automation platform, new relationship management software, online reputation management and more.

But perhaps the most fun was had at the Awards Luncheon and Presentation, when the hard work of mortgage professionals was recognized. RE/MAX Holdings CEO Adam Contos also stopped by to congratulate everyone in the room before posing for a group photo.

“It’s been a busy 16 months since we launched Motto Mortgage,” Morrison says. “So it was important to gather the first franchisees and loan originators to look back on what we’ve accomplished together – and look forward to what we will do in the future. All in all, it was a great first Motto MILE Summit.”
