Jeans Day Facebook Fundraiser
Here’s an easy way to donate to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals: Post a picture of your participating agents on Miracle Jeans Day, then donate $1 for every ‘Like’ it receives on Facebook. That’s what RE/MAX Beaumont did, along with RE/MAX First in nearby Nederland. Kudos to Broker/Owner Charlie Foxworth, and the entire team.

Train Wrap
A group of RE/MAX offices in Calgary offered moving proof – literally – of RE/MAX support for Children’s Miracle Network. They co-branded enormous train wraps with the CMN logo so that everyone in Calgary could see the RE/MAX connection to helping sick children across Canada. The colorful wraps decorated light-rail cars that connect Calgary’s suburbs to the city’s vibrant downtown. This is yet another example of the creative ways RE/MAX Affiliates showed support for sick kids during RE/MAX Month of Miracles.

Salvando Corazones
Salvando Corazones means “Saving Hearts,” and it’s an organization that inspired two Associates at RE/MAX Real Estate Consultants to embark on a life-changing trip to Costa Rica. Debbie McIver and Terri Scheper joined a group of other volunteers to build a school for young girls who’d been victimized by sex trafficking. They also shipped $1,100 worth of personal care items and school supplies; the considerable cost of the shipment was generously covered by Tony Nalley, Co-Broker/Owner of the Chapin-based brokerage. McIver and Scheper say the trip was “eye-opening,” and both plan to continue helping Salvando Corazones meet its critically important mission.

Masquerade Ball
Agents at RE/MAX Initial Realty had a ball raising funds for Camp Quality New Zealand, a non-profit group that organizes an annual retreat, and year-round support, for children battling cancer. On Aug. 31, the office put on a glamorous Masquerade Ball and Auction, with the proceeds going directly to Camp Quality, RE/MAX New Zealand’s charity of choice. Sales Associate Rebecka Gallagher found sponsors, created marketing and advertising materials, put on the auction and organized the ball itself, which raised thousands of dollars for Camp Quality.

A Fourteener Fundraiser
For one RE/MAX World Headquarters staffer, community involvement meant taking the high road in August – a very high road. Online Sales Coordinator Domonique Hansen climbed Mt. Bierstadt, a 14,065-foot-tall mountain, among the highest in the U.S., as part of the annual MegaPath Climbing for Kids, benefiting Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colo. Hansen joined a large group of hikers, aged eight to 80, in a trek that began at 6 a.m. and took five hours to complete. Hansen proudly notes that she was among the first to finish. The event raised more than $38,000, inspiring Hansen to make it an annual event, and to climb other Colorado fourteeners.

Locks of Love
It was off with her hair for Kelly Hart at a fundraiser for CMN Hospitals. Hart, Office Administrator at RE/MAX Northwest Realtors, volunteered to have her glorious, thick blonde hair sheared off for charity. Hart says she wanted to do something special for sick kids since, as office staff, she can’t contribute to CMN Hospitals as often as the agents who donate with each closed home transaction. Hart’s haircut was part of a fundraising effort that netted more than $18,000 – well over the original $10,000 goal. Hart looks fetching in her new ‘do, and her long hair has been donated to Locks of Love, an organization that provides quality hairpieces for young post-chemotherapy patients.
