Looking to take natural living up a notch? Then this might be the home for you.
An eco-friendly dwelling has hit the market in Dietikon, a city just outside of Zurich, Switzerland, and its creative construction makes it a rare sight to see. The home is part of a nine-unit village of connected “earth houses” that were designed in organic shapes to integrate harmoniously into the local landscape – one of luscious rolling hills.
The curvy external framework is reflected inside the four-bedroom, two-bathroom place, too. Rounded walls, ceilings, doorways and windows are commonplace throughout the contemporary home which boasts a modern kitchen, ample lounge space and an outdoor terrace. The thoughtful design also promotes sustainability through its natural insulation – with sprayed concrete covered by a grassy roof – that helps keep the space regulate its temperature depending on the season.
It’s one of the few homes created by Peter Vetsch, a Swiss architect renowned for being environmentally conscious.
