A real estate agent’s success is 80% mindset and only 20% strategy, says Kerri Krell, master certified life coach and President of Soul Solutions Inc., a personal coaching platform.
Without an optimistic and driven outlook, the steps one takes toward success can leave them falling short of accomplishing their goals – or, from feeling pride and joy once they do accomplish them.
With her contagious enthusiasm, Krell joined RE/MAX Chief Customer Officer Nick Bailey on “Good Morning RE/MAX” for a deep dive into the role mindset plays along the journey to success.
Optimize opportunities
Krell encourages people to adopt a mindset that things don’t happen to them – but, rather, for them. An open, positive mindset enables one to optimize the opportunities thrown their way.
She speaks to the copacetic state – the mental state that’s a lower-energy, comfort-zone state of being. Choosing to challenge oneself in the name of growth and ultimately achieve a higher vibration (clarity and energy) requires constant building to stray away from the comfort-zone.
“That’s where magic is – it’s the contrast from where I am to where I want to go. And every time I see the bigger picture, I stay focused and I use language that’s powerful. It’s propelling me forward,” she explains.
Focus on the positives
In every situation, she encourages people to stay focused on the positive – and to avoid letting their negative perceptions or fears impact others. Not only is this healthy for their own mindset, but it is also the stance of a true leader.
Mindset work, Krell says, is especially important to propel an agent or business through challenges, like supporting communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Action doesn’t just happen – it stems from thoughts, which snowball with determination and inspiration.
“It really is a thought [that] creates a belief, which creates a mindset,” Krell says.
