Forget wood framing, drywall and brick – this house in the Czech Republic was 3D printed using concrete. Best of all, it’s for sale.
Dubbed “Prvok,” the artistic house – built in a revolutionary way – is the first of its kind in its country. The statue-like structure has very few sharp corners. The walls are curved, windows are circular, and countertops are rounded. The front of the home features a futuristic-looking door in a bold red color – an accent featured throughout.
Other details help make Prvok a modern marvel, too. It features a built-in 3D printed speaker system that operates in each room. Additionally, many functions of the home can be controlled through a smart phone app. While it has the means to be powered by electricity, the home – intentionally eco-conscious – can also be powered by onsite solar panels.
A cozy, portable size, Prvok features just over 460 square feet of living space. Plus, it can float on water for those who’d prefer a houseboat.
The contemporary dwelling was designed by renowned sculptor Michal Trpak, who wanted to combine technology, architecture, and art to revolutionize construction. The vision was then brought to life by Scoolpt, Trpak’s team, who boast a vast portfolio of concrete 3D printed sculptures. Scoolpt shares that it took a total of 22 hours to 3D print the materials needed to build Prvok.
Zdeněk Štourač and Daniel Červ, both agents with RE/MAX G8 Reality in the Czech Republic, are representing the listing of the unique home that blurs the line between art and lifestyle.
