REALTORS® in search of an all-in-one solution for educational courses, certifications and areas of expertise necessary to maintain – and enhance – professionalism in the real estate industry needn’t look any further.
The REALTORS Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) Endorsement from the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) is an all-encompassing Endorsement that evaluates every aspect of an agent’s or broker’s business and helps determine where improvements could be made. RE/MAX affiliates of all experience levels can sign up for the C2EX Endorsement through RE/MAX University.
“The RE/MAX culture is built on professionalism and constant learning, so this is a very natural fit,” says Casey Denby, RE/MAX Vice President of Learning and Education. “The C2EX Endorsement program gives RE/MAX agents another way to keep their skills sharp and connect with clients who need them. The end result: a better customer experience.”
The C2EX Endorsement program entails a baseline evaluation of 10 competencies for agents, plus an additional competency for brokers. From there, REALTORS are guided through a customized learning path that identifies areas like fair housing, community involvement, real estate law or technology engagement, for example, that are subject for improvement.
Clients working with a C2EX Endorsed REALTOR will find that they are working with an expert committed to achieving the highest level of professionalism in the business. Agents who earned their C2EX Endorsement are required to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date through the platform and are also promoted via realtor.com, where prospective clients can search exclusively for professionals who have completed the program.

“I think it is a fantastic opportunity for RE/MAX agents to really shine and show their ongoing commitment to excellence in the industry.”
Ali Whitley, RE/MAX Crossroads Properties in Ohio
RE/MAX agent Ali Whitley serves on NAR’s C2EX committee and explains the value the program provides to real estate professionals.
“The personal assessment considers what experiences you’ve already had and what experiences you could use in order to make your commitment to excellence,” says Whitley, a Sales Associate with RE/MAX Crossroads Properties in Fairlawn, Ohio. “Once you have completed all of the required tasks and learning goals, then you will be Endorsed by NAR – and the Endorsement lasts for three years.”
Throughout those three years, Whitley explains, participants are encouraged to use the platform and work toward additional elective designations. C2EX is a starting point, or all-inclusive organization system, for those new and old to the industry, to embrace education to better their business.
“For those people in the business less than a year, this is a fantastic way to get started in your education through NAR and learn how to advocate for clients during negotiations and within client relationships, as well as legislatively and ethically through fair housing practices,” Whitley says. “And for a person who’s been in the business longer, even for 30 or 40 years, [C2EX] is a great refresher.”
If agents or brokers have already completed any courses through NAR, Whitley adds, those courses can count toward their progress in C2EX.
Whitley believes that completing the program has already made an impact in her own business, as well as her local involvement.
“I [completed C2EX] and got my Endorsement in 2019. I had already been in business for over 20 years and I have had a lot of activity working for associations, but there were some areas I had not covered yet. C2EX identified that I should go to community zoning meetings and council meetings to get an idea of what’s going on within my [town],” she says.
“I think it is a fantastic opportunity for RE/MAX agents to really shine and show their ongoing commitment to excellence in the industry. This is a fantastic partnership between RE/MAX and NAR.”
