A recent report from the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) finds that Hispanic households were the driving force behind U.S. homeownership growth in 2025.

According to NAHREP’s annual State of Hispanic Homeownership Report, which looks at market forces such as inventory, demographics and financing influencing Hispanic homeownership, Hispanic households added a record 441,000 owner-households in 2025, reaching an all-time high of 10.2 million Hispanic-owned households. The gain accounted for all U.S. homeownership growth last year, offsetting declines among other demographic groups.

The report shows that Hispanic households are helping sustain housing demand at a time when affordability remains strained, and entry-level inventory continues to fall short. Other key findings from the report include:

  • Household formation points to continued demand:
Hispanics added 1,094,000 new households in 2025, accounting for 92.6% of all national household growth. With a median age of 31, many Hispanic households are entering their prime homebuying years.
  • The market is becoming more balanced, but affordability remains tight:
Slower home price growth, moderating interest rates and rising inventory have created more opportunities for buyers in some markets. However, affordable inventory remains limited, with only 41.6% of listings in 2025 priced below $350,000, compared with 58.9% in 2019.
  • Multigenerational living continues to support homeownership:
Roughly one in three Hispanic households is multigenerational, helping families pool income, manage costs and improve buying power in a challenging affordability environment.
  • Financing tools remain critical:
Hispanic buyers were twice as likely as non-Hispanic buyers to use Federal Housing Administration (FHA) financing in 2024, with nearly one in three Hispanic home purchase originations funded through FHA.
  • Opportunity markets are emerging across the South and Midwest:
NAHREP identified top opportunity markets for Hispanic homebuyers based on affordability, with Indianapolis ranking highest. Texas markets made up a significant share of the top 25, while Midwest markets such as Detroit and Rockford, Illinois also stood out.

As part of its ongoing partnership with NAHREP, REMAX recognizes the importance of research that helps real estate professionals better understand Hispanic buyers and sellers for more informed conversations in today’s market.

“NAHREP’s report reinforces what many real estate professionals are seeing: Hispanic buyers are a powerful force in housing today and will continue to shape demand across markets,” said Chris Lim, REMAX President and Chief Growth Officer. “For the REMAX network, these insights offer valuable perspective on what matters most to Hispanic households as they navigate homeownership.”
