RE/MAX Senior Vice President Mike Reagan explains how three strategic alliances are helping agents break down barriers for their clients.
In 2015, RE/MAX formalized its diversity program. What organizations does RE/MAX sponsor, and why did the company decide it was time to get involved?
From day one, RE/MAX has been the home of top producers working to help as many people as possible achieve the dream of homeownership. We’ve never put a label on an agent, client or family looking to work with us. If someone has the dream of homeownership, our agents’ role is to be the most qualified real estate professional to help them accomplish their goal.
Why did RE/MAX decide to get involved with these organizations?
We saw sponsoring these organizations as a way to put our values into action. From a brand point of view, we wanted it to be crystal clear that our financial support meant we support their mission to make homeownership accessible for everyone.
How do these partnerships benefit agents?
Real estate professionals should strive to be the best at serving everyone. That’s why the study of demographics, homebuying patterns, and the lifestyle of community members is important.
What role does RE/MAX play in helping these organizations promote diversity in real estate?
This is the third year RE/MAX has been a sponsor of the AREAA State of Asia America Report, one of the most comprehensive compilations of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) real estate and economic data available.
How should RE/MAX agents maximize the partnerships with NAHREP, AREAA and NAGLREP and incorporate the benefits into their business?
Go to a chapter meeting! It’s the best way to take advantage of the training, coaching and cultural education offered by these organizations. Combined, the three organizations host more than 300 educational opportunities each year.
