Chris Rooney took his time deciding where and when to move his 32 agents from Realty House, an independent brokerage in Prior Lake, Minn. He wanted the timing to be right for everyone, and he wanted to make sure the next company they aligned with would meet his expansion goals.

After considering various options, Rooney in January opened his own office, RE/MAX Preferred. His agents – and their clients – couldn’t be happier about the switch.

Sales Associate Lauren Peters wants to capitalize on the strength of the RE/MAX name in marketing pieces he’s creating with ready-to-use options in Design Center.

“I used to spend a lot of money just telling clients who I am because Realty House wasn’t a well-known name,” Peters says. “But everyone knows RE/MAX. It gives me instant credibility. Now I can devote more resources to putting together really impressive listing presentations and promotional materials.”

Broker Manager Martha Hoover looks forward to easier networking, lead generation and greater communication with her clients.

“There are so many RE/MAX templates and platforms to make our jobs easier,” Hoover says. “We’re still exploring all the options, but our agents are already blown away.

Client response has been overwhelmingly positive, Peters says. Rooney recalls one agent whose Facebook post announcing the move to RE/MAX generated five new leads in just 36 hours.

“Clout. That’s one of the main reasons I chose RE/MAX,” Rooney says. “RE/MAX offers state-of-the art tools we didn’t have at Realty House. Plus, I like the maximum commissions at RE/MAX, and how agent-oriented the company is.”

As his agents settle in, Rooney is focusing on mentoring them, a role he relishes.

“We’re working on an individual business plan for each agent,” he says. “And we discuss goals, as well as our new resources such as RE/MAX University courses, to help them advance in their careers.”
