With a presence in over 110 countries and territories, RE/MAX affiliates are on a mission to help improve the lives of individuals and families around the globe through real estate. To celebrate the accomplishments of RE/MAX affiliates worldwide, the brand annually recognizes outstanding regions based on growth and impact.

For 2021, the RE/MAX of Southern Africa and RE/MAX Argentina regions – located nearly 6,500 kilometers (more than 4,000 miles!) apart from one another – are co-winners of the RE/MAX Global Region of the Year award, an accolade bestowed each year for more than two decades.

The winning regions, as well as the runners-up, experienced tremendous growth throughout 2021 amid tumultuous housing market conditions and increased consumer demand. They both reflect the massive impact of RE/MAX regions around the world.

“The RE/MAX network has a global footprint unmatched by any other real estate brand,” says Shawna Gilbert, RE/MAX Vice President of Global Development. “RE/MAX, LLC celebrates all affiliated global regions as they expand homeownership, create commercial real estate opportunities and help entrepreneurs build their businesses. At the very top are our 2021 Global RE/MAX Regions of the Year.”

Cue the applause – here are the RE/MAX Global Region of the Year winners for 2021.

RE/MAX of Southern Africa

RE/MAX of Southern Africa opened its first franchise in 1995 in Cape Town, South Africa. Today, the network has grown to nearly 3,000 affiliates, with a net gain of 301 agents in 2021 alone.

For the past two years, the region also was also named the “Best Real Estate Brokerage in South Africa” by the global Luxury Lifestyle Awards. In 2021, RE/MAX of Southern Africa achieved the highest-ever registered sales total in the region’s history, exceeding $252 million USD (R4 billion).

In addition to passionate and achieving affiliates, an impactful factor driving the region’s success is its leadership. Adrian Goslett, Vicky Goslett, and Amanda Cuba share ownership and hold executive leadership positions.

“We have a hard-working, dedicated staff of 36 at our Regional Support Office,” Adrian says. “They are passionate about serving our network and they innovate and support our agents wherever they can. I thank each of them for their hard work and for helping us achieve this honor.”

He continues, “The team also credits the RE/MAX brand and network. The tools, resources, and overall brand recognition provided by RE/MAX have been massive contributing factors in our success.”

Over the next few years, RE/MAX of Southern Africa aims to grow to 25% market share and 4,000 agents within its network.

RE/MAX Argentina

Dotti Peñate Sosa and Sebastian Sosa became real estate business partners and brought the first RE/MAX franchise to Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2004. The region is no stranger to the RE/MAX Global Region of the Year award – it has earned the accolade four other times.

RE/MAX Argentina boasts over 4,000 agents and saw a net gain of 758 agents in 2021. Other noteworthy 2021 accomplishments for RE/MAX Argentina include winning the Eikon Award – an award specific to Argentina that celebrates the outstanding work of communications professionals – and winning a Lápiz Award for its corporate public relations efforts.

“We have become the [industry leader] in the country [and] we could never have achieved that without the power of the RE/MAX brand,” says Dotti. “[Being affiliated with RE/MAX] matters and sets you apart from the rest. We are very consistent with promoting the RE/MAX Balloon.”

Success, according to the region owners, is about running a business with a people-first approach.

“It’s about people, not properties. In a competitive industry, relationships matter. Building community with your clients for life and caring for them consistently while providing extraordinary services sets you apart from the rest!” she shares.

RE/MAX Argentina hopes to open 12 new offices, grow agent count, and expand into new cities throughout the country. Specifically, the goal is to grow to 270 offices and more than 12,700 agents by 2030 – helping at least 1 million buyers and sellers along the way. The region is also partnering with Universidad San Andres to launch a program to assist agents in partnering with real estate developers.

While RE/MAX Southern Africa and RE/MAX Argentina saw unparalleled growth on a global scale in 2021, RE/MAX Portugal and RE/MAX Australia boasted impressive results as well – earning them spots as runners-up. RE/MAX Portugal has won the title in several past years.

Congratulations to the 2021 RE/MAX Global Regions of The Year!
