RE/MAX Gateway, one of Northern Virginia’s prominent real estate brokerage firms, ended 2022 with two additional offices and 55 additional REALTORS® by acquiring the existing RE/MAX Regency franchise. This acquisition, which took place during the 4th Quarter of 2022, allows Scott MacDonald, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Gateway, and his team to expand their footprint further into Prince William County and the Greater Piedmont REALTOR® association area, including Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison, and Rappahannock counties and beyond.
The merger of these two powerhouse brokerages gives RE/MAX Gateway and RE/MAX Regency agents more market share and premier market presence.
“We are all very excited about this great partnership,” MacDonald says. “The acquisition adds some fantastic RE/MAX Regency agents to our RE/MAX Gateway family. We’re looking forward to expanding our market presence and extending our footprint into more areas in Virginia and providing a larger range of resources to all of our agents.”
MacDonald acquired the RE/MAX Regency franchise from former Broker/Owner Chuck Cornwell. Together, MacDonald and Cornwell have a combined 50+ years of experience owning RE/MAX franchises. RE/MAX Gateway now has five office locations in Virginia – Chantilly, Alexandria, Fairfax, Haymarket, and Warrenton – and more than 200 agents licensed in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.
“This merging of these two major real estate companies creates an unequaled benefits package for our agents and our clients. Not only does our combined team now have access to more offices and markets, but we also have broader opportunities for training, staff support, networking and marketing opportunities to expand the agents’ businesses,” Cornwell says.
RE/MAX Gateway fosters the sharing of ideas so that all our agents succeed. We provide an inclusive work environment and offer unlimited training opportunities, information exchanges, workshops, seminars, client and charity events, and more. With an emphasis on giving back, RE/MAX Gateway focuses charitable efforts on Children’s Miracle Network all year long. Gateway earned the honor of 2nd Highest Fundraising Office in the DC Metro Area for 2021, and MacDonald was named Broker/Owner of the Year at Children’s Hospital of DC’s Miracle Agent Reception in August 2022.
