Real estate agents who are passionate about business growth understand the crucial value of support. For many, it includes a productive office culture and the involvement of an attentive Broker/Owner.

However, not all brand structures place emphasis on ongoing agent support and well-being. That’s why many agents choose to align with a broker who creates a culture of mentorship and accessibility.

Take Tara Williams, for example. Williams is Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Elegance in Brandywine, Maryland, a growing office she curated to meet the needs of serious agents looking to take their business to new levels.

“It’s important for agents to know they have a compassionate broker, especially one who’s going to be available to them and be a resource for them,” she says. “It’s also really valuable as a broker to be a source of guidance for your agents.”

Why agent support is a top priority for Williams

“When I was an agent with my previous company [with a competitor brand], I looked to my associate broker for guidance. Now, leading RE/MAX Elegance, I love having these close relationships with my agents,” Williams says. “It’s so important for me as a broker to be the best I can be for others.”

Knowing each agent at RE/MAX Elegance is working toward different goals, Williams takes a holistic approach in providing mentorship.

“As a broker, I’ve found that some agents don’t want frequent communication, whereas other agents call me all the time,” she shares. “I definitely made sure to set some boundaries, but I always want my agents to know I’m available to help them and answer their questions.”

Our office will continue to grow – and I want to make sure I’m right there alongside my agents as that happens.

Sustainable growth, continued mentorship

As the leader of her boutique-style brokerage, Williams takes pride in providing continual support to her current agents while welcoming new ones to the brand, too.

“It’s hard to move brokerages, but agents have to make that change if their current brokerage isn’t meeting their needs. I want to make sure that when it’s time for local agents to make changes, they know exactly what they’re getting into when they join RE/MAX Elegance – and how office culture, broker support, and their success are our priorities,” she says.

“Our office will continue to grow – and I want to make sure I’m right there alongside my agents as that happens.”

The benefit of offering technology and resources

For Williams, one key aspect of supporting her agents is by equipping them with top-notch technology tools to aid in business organization and growth.

“I embrace technology, so we use the MAX/Tech powered by kvCORE platform,” she shares. “I make sure my agents are using the platform to create pipelines and build their business. It also includes information on how to capture your contacts and how to keep clients informed of what’s going on in the local market. And there are easy ways to create drip campaigns.

Williams adds, “As a broker, you constantly have to be aware of what’s going on – like new technology – and then share that information with your agents.”

Nowadays, social media plays a prevalent role in marketing for business. Williams helps educate her agents on curating an effective strategy with social media and aligning with digital best practices.

Plus, Williams holds monthly staff meetings, hosts gatherings with local lender and title contacts, and offers encouragement to pursue Momentum training – a RE/MAX exclusive. Williams makes it a priority to help her agents achieve their professional goals.

“In addition to being comfortable coming to me for help, it’s so important to have a dynamic among your agents where they love working with one another and know each other’s specialties. They’re always looking out for one another,” she shares.

“I work hard to create a great culture within my office, and am thankful my agents uphold that culture every day.”
